Manistee River: Has good numbers of steelhead all the way up to Tippy Dam. Boat anglers are back-trolling with spoons or plugs. Some are fly fishing while others are drifting small jigs with spawn or wax worms.
Muskegon River: Is producing some nice steelhead below Croton Dam. Some are casting small spoons or spinners while others are floating spawn or flies.

Spring is Time to Fish. The river are swollen and are swelling with Steelhead. The Grand river is fishing very well, as is the St Joe, Kalamazoo, Manistee and Pere Marquette. The Muskegon is still a little iffy. The warm weather this week will warm the water temps and the Steelhead will become more prevalent and willing.

winter steel
Fresh Steelhead in the Muskegon river. This weekend proved to be an excellent Steelhead fishing weekend on the Muskegon river near Newaygo.
There seem to be Steelhead through out the river system I fished near Newaygo Mi and did very well I talked to fishing guides that fished near Croton Dam and Fishing guides that fished Bridgeton, Maple Island. We all did well.
As a matter of fact this week was a very good week. Seams that last thaw convinced some more steelhead to come up river. Why not give me a call book a fishing trip with me and I will buy you a motel room or dinner. dougie b 517 927 9678
