Steelhead fishing remains somewhat challenging at times with water levels raising and dropping from one day to the next. We have be getting fish on every trip, but the big numbers are just not there yet. The spring run is 7 to ten days behind the norm. Current water flows are at 5500 cfs and Visibility at 18 inches. Weather temps at 39 degrees at Croton Dam and can change by a degree or two down driver depending on the air temp on any given day. Crowds have been on the increase, so look for a busy river the remainder of the season croton dam, muskegon river, muskegon river guide, float fishing steelhead, muskegon river steelhead,

winter steel

Fresh Steelhead in the Muskegon river. This weekend proved to be an excellent Steelhead fishing weekend on the Muskegon river near Newaygo.

There seem to be Steelhead through out the river system I fished near Newaygo Mi and did very well I talked to fishing guides that fished near Croton Dam and Fishing guides that fished Bridgeton, Maple Island. We all did well.

As a matter of fact this week was a very good week. Seams that last thaw convinced some more steelhead to come up river. Why not give me a call book a fishing trip with me and I will buy you a motel room or dinner. dougie b 517 927 9678
